Ross is a member of the Intitute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and a Registered Tax Agent who founded the business in 1980.

Kathryn is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.

Anu is a CPA who joined us in early 2020. Anu has more than 9 year’s experience in public practice and enjoys assisting clients with their businesses.

Jess is a Chartered Accountant from Townsville who joined us in early 2019. Jess has extensive experience working with small business clients and is passionate about being involved in her clients businesses.

Bill Thorburn CA, FAICD

Bill commenced his working life as a Chartered Accountant at Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young), before moving into senior managerial roles in both public and private sector enterprises.  He recently retired as COO Lotteries with Tatts Group Limited.

After graduating from the University of Queensland, Rosemary commenced her accounting career with a Brisbane CBD mid-tier accounting firm in their taxation and business services division and quickly realised this was the area she wanted to specialize in. She established her own tax practice after leaving full time work to start her family and maintained this for several years before moving to a full time role in the private sector with her largest client.

A performance driven professional with more than 25 years’ experience in the private sector as both Group Financial Controller and Group Chief Financial Officer, Rosemary has expertise in most facets of accounting, financial management, risk analysis, capital raising for both start-up and established corporations across a multitude of industry sectors including residential and commercial construction, child care, telecommunications, real estate, advertising, manufacturing and retail. During this time as part of her role she was responsible for overseeing the taxation affairs of all these various businesses so continued to keep abreast of changes in taxation legislation and practice.

Her passion has always been to achieve the best financial outcomes from both a taxation and business perspective for her clients which has led her back to working in public practice again in her current part- time role with Ross Huston Chartered Accountants.

In addition to being a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, Rosemary is a licenced real estate agent, tax agent in her own right and Commissioner for Declarations.

She is a committed Rotarian and a passionate believer in helping those less fortunate than ourselves. She has served in the roles of Club President, Treasurer, Assistant Governor and currently sits on the District Finance Committee of Rotary District 9630.

Together with her husband she also supports Variety Qld to help kids who are disadvantaged by physical, emotional or economic circumstances.
